We Are Fridge: The Beginnings
A Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... 7 far too talented, far too good-looking artists emerged from the ashes and bullshit of OCAD and started Fridge. A design house, fully equipped to kick ass and show the competition just how bad their kicks really are.
Last night marked a new beginning for us all. A start towards doing what we want with our lives, making something of our degrees and taking control of that artistically, professionally, and without boundaries. This is what Fridge represents. A professional efficient job, with a laid back attitude and a beyond creative style.
So our first meeting was a little alcohol fueled (as most great ideas are), and we made some pretty strong rooted decisions that i will remind us all of now. This blog will serve the purpose of documenting important decisions and events and also help create the history of Fridge.
As discussed...
1. Name/Logo
Creating a name didn't take too long, we decided on Fridge pretty quickly. Not entirely sure how it came about but for some reason it's nonsensical plain nature stuck.
Now that we have a name, our next focus will be on deciding a logo and brand. Igor seemed pretty confident in creating leave behinds and a solid portfolio etc. Awesome.
2. Website
Alex, Igor and JJ started sketching this out last night, the idea is solid its going to look tight. The website layout will be a fridge that opens and reveals the inside of an "artists fridge." (emulsion, day old something, poorghetti, chinese take out, ketchup, moldy fruit, that looks edible, whatever) Clicking on the fridge items will send you to each artists personal page and profile.
3. We are the Originals.
Inviting other people to join Fridge will be discussed more in the future, once we have our foundations. Others may be invited later on but not permanently at first, and of course majority rules and Newbee's will be tested on work habits etc. before anything is fully decided. We all want to be able to work together comfortably with conflicts at a minimum. We're all in this together, there is no hierarchy.
4. Things we all need to do individually by next Meeting (Tuesday, March.9th)

- Sketch out some ideas of what you want the Fridge logo to look like
- Think of who you want to work for. Who do you want to be represented by?
- What condiment or item in the Fridge do you want to have your profile linked to on the website.
- Think of 1 venue or place where we can have our opening bash.
- Find 1 place for rent that could potentially be a affordable studio space.
